WHAT IS A LIQUID FACELIFT?

We take proper care of our skin to slow down the ageing process. When fine lines and other signs of ageing start to appear, we tend to be more cautious with our skin and pay more heed to it. Facelift Toronto is one of the most renowned ways of dealing with signs of ageing. However, if you don’t want to undergo a surgical procedure, then you don’t need to worry as there are non-surgical procedures which you could opt for and one of them is the liquid facelift.

What is a liquid facelift?

Over the past decade, injectable has become an increasingly popular option. These dermal fillers provide a natural-looking aesthetic improvement. In the ageing process, the collagen present in the skin starts to break down, slowly diminishing its strength and volume. To rejuvenate the skin and get back its old volume and youthful look, dermal fillers are a safe and effective solution. These dermal fillers which are used on the face are often called liquid facelift or lunchtime facelift, as it requires only a few minutes to inject.

Hyaluronic Acid (HA) is a naturally occurring protein in the soft connective tissue of the skin. A synthetic form of this HA has been developed which looks similar to a gel-like substance or thick liquid. This liquid is injected either into the dermis or right below the dermis, depending on the area which is being augmented, with the help of tiny needles. Lidocaine which is a local anaesthetic is included within the injections, as a result of which you would feel very little to absolutely no pain.

How long do the results last?

The results of all dermal fillers stay in effect for at least 6 months, with some hyaluronic acid products even lasting up to 18 months. The life of the product varies from patient to patient as the body eventually breaks it down and safely metabolizes it. The longevity can be improved by maintaining the filler over time.

Different kinds of filters which are available?

The increasing popularity of non-surgical treatment has given rise to more refined and specially targeted dermal fillers. These injectable fillers are used to target specific areas of the face where wrinkle correction and facial rejuvenation is needed. For example, Juvederm and Volbella are popular choices for those who are opting for lip fillers and marionette lines around the lips.
